The Gnomes and the Un-Gnome

The Gnomes and the Un-Gnome

( Performance time: 40-45 minutes)

The inhabitants of Gnomes Knoll are visited by a leprechaun named Seamus. Although Seamus tries to help the gnomes with their daily chores, he repeatedly hinders their work. He breaks the eggs being picked by Tilly and Spade, the farmer gnomes; he pulls the flowers being tended by Gerber and Daisy, the gardening gnomes, and he topples Weaver and Willow (basket maker gnomes) into the river while pulling reeds. The gnomes decide to “fix” him by making him remove his shillelagh, top hat, and coat, and replace them with the uniform of a gnome. Despite this change in attire, Seamus’ ineptness continues, and he decides to leave Gnomes Knoll, though he loves the gnomes and they adore him. But, something happens that enables Seamus to save the day and remain in Gnomes Knoll forever!
